He has been in all year but we were just waiting for suitable ground and his work-rider, my wife Mary, was very bullish about him,. He was going for the veterans' chase at Limerick over Christmas but got an infection in his foot two days before it. He only missed a couple of days with it and we had the shoe back on after three days and we came here instead. He was travelling well all the way and they were apart jumping the final fence and I just thought he'd need company but they came together coming up to the line and it helped, as he idles a bit. We'll got for more of the same next.

He jumped great for Mark and seemed to enjoy it. Hopefully we can find something similar for him. He was a bit unlucky at Thurles the last day where he got a bad fall at the last.

He’s given a bit of trouble along the way and we had him over fences last season. His mark was there over hurdles, and we decided to use it (this season). Two and a half miles would probably suit him even better but he did it well. He could run over hurdles or fences now. He’s entered in the opportunity chase on Thursday but will not run now.

I like this place going this way around! I suppose we had a good few winners going the other way too but it's definitely a better track going this way really. It turned into a bit of a flat race really but he got through it anyway. He had a right look at the second last but he did it well enough and got through the ground. He was off for a while with a setback which was a pity. He will probably go handicapping now. It was a handy race to win.
