Qatar's Blitz wins Dundalk opener
The Johnny Murtagh trained Blitz, in the colours of Qatar Racing Limited, gained a valuable maiden win at Dundalk today, landing the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden on her sixth career attempt. Fri 04th NovIce Cold In Alex nerveless under lights
Ken Condon's Ice Cold In Alex relished his first crack at the polytrack in Dundalk as he raced away with the five furlong nursery. Fri 21st OctO'Callaghan and Manning win Curragh opener
The Michael O'Callaghan trained Mur Hiba landed the opening K Club European Breeders Fund Maiden at Curragh today, scoring a half length win under jockey Kevin Manning. Sun 07th Aug"Fat" but fast - it's Mr Scarlet
Mr Scarlet was popular with punters this morning for the Irish Stallions Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden (Plus 10 Race) at Naas on the back of a promising debut fourth placing at Fairyhouse ten days ago. He duly went and delivered for Sheila Lavery under Gary Carroll. Wed 20th Jul
After race at Dundalk Fri, 4th Nov, 2016 (1st)
we always thought she’d win a maiden. She didn’t handle the soft ground at the Curragh but her last run up here was good. She’s very quick and quick out of the stalls. The last day we dropped her in but she got trapped wide and couldn’t get in and today Colin said he’d just keep it simple. It’s very important for those fillies to win their maidens and hopefully she could improve a little bit over the winter. I haven’t spoke yet to Peter (Molony, Qatar Racing) or the team yet but I’d say that could be it (finished) for the year.
