Whirl shows battling qualities to land Group 3 under Lordan
The Aidan O'Brien trained Whirl made most under Wayne Lordan to win the Group 3 Staffordstown Stud Stakes (Fillies) at the Curragh. Tue 22nd OctAnd So To Bed rises and shines
After two creditable runs at the Curragh, And So To Bed (11/2) got off the mark at the third time of asking in the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden. Thu 18th Jul
After race at Leopardstown Thu, 18th Jul, 2024 (1st)
We've liked her all along. Although she didn't run badly in both races at the Curragh we were hoping for slightly more both times. I'd say you'll find both of those maidens will work out to be particularly hot, especially the seven furlong race the last day. I wouldn't be surprised if the first and second turned out to be Group 1 performers. With us trying to go with them it maybe cost us third. I think the six-and-a-half suited her and I think she enjoyed going around the turn. We'll probably stick to turning with her and maybe going seven rather than back to six. She looks like a filly that will be heading for black-type races. She's a nice filly for the future.
