FormscanBy John O'Riordan - VADO FORTE is an interesting contender on his first start for Ross O'Sullivan. A good winner over course and distance in July, the nine-year-old was rather surprisingly dropped into claiming company on his next run. The weight rise he received for that latest win has been offset by Michael O'Sullivan reducing his burden by 7lb now. Jeremys Flame had a few of these behind when finishing sixth in the Galway Blazers Handicap Chase at the festival. The mare didn't quite see out the trip on that occasion so will be well suited to dropping back in distance. Gevrey should be approaching his peak on this third run after a summer break. The Gordon Elliott-trained six-year-old has some decent form that would give him every chance in a race of this nature.
An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards (140 = 11st 12lbs)Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.
