Yours in style - it's the opening Gowran victor Mise Le Meas Mise Le Meas (9/4 favourite) built on a promising Curragh debut third placing from 29 days ago to win the Irish EBF Auction Series Fillies Maiden at Gowran. For Syndicates Racing and Medallion Racing 2020 LLC, the successful daughter of New Bay, bred locally at Ballylinch Stud, was never far away here in the hands of Ben Coen. Johnny Murtagh’s charge, smartly across from her fifteen draw, chased the leaders in third on the outer, and she took a keen hold early. In front travelling well two furlongs out, Mise Le Meas was pushed along and went clear a furlong and a half out. The talented juvenile stayed on well in the final furlong to triumph in a comfortable fashion. Second market-choice Duvet Day finished well in the silver medal spot but she was a length and three parts adrift of Mise Le Meas at the line. “We're very happy with her. This looked a nice race coming here but seemed like a strong race when we got here as there were a lot of fancied horses,” said Murtagh. “Ben said she travelled very well, was very professional, jumped and came across. He let her go a little bit sooner than ideal and she should learn loads from today. “The Debutante Stakes is next, that looks like a nice race for her. “We think she's a stakes filly and the new syndicate would be keen to go to America at the end of the year.” T.P. Madden, rider of Lady Of Inishfree trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got no run in the straight. A.J. Slattery, rider of Lucky Girl trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away. (GC & EM)
