Ger Lyons and Colin Keane recorded a quick double at Gowran Park this afternoon as Moony Beams made all to gain a deserved success.
The Farhh gelding went to post 15/8 favourite in the median auction maiden having been fourth on his return at Navan, after three placed efforts last season.
Keane sent his mount straight to the front in the mile contest and asked him for an effort passing the two pole. Moe Sedway and Smooth Tom both finished off well in the closing stages but were held by half a length and a neck.
Shane Lyons said:- “The last day he ran into two good horses in Navan. He got a little bit upset before the race and because of that ran a bit too fresh. That took it out of him but he behaved much better today.
“Colin said he just pricked his ears in the last 150 yards and got a bit idle. There is a bit of improvement to come.
“He’s a fine looking horse and handled the ground. He could step back a bit in trip and we’ll have a bit of fun with him.”
Lyons and Keane had also teamed up to claim the preceding contest with Affogato
