Newtown Anner horses performing right up to par A good day for owners Newtown Anner Stud Farm got better when barrier trial scorer Angels Wrath took that promise to competition under race conditions in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden at Dundalk. The successful Clonmel-based outfit were on the mark earlier at Group Three level over at Newmarket. Forbearance triumphed for them there, in the hands of Shane Foley for Jessica Harrington. Meanwhile Johnny Murtagh’s Angels Wrath still understandably looked green, but her talent seems abundant as she put the race to bed by three and a quarter lengths for Ben Coen’s urgings. Kitty Kitana finished second, whilst favourite West Coast was third. “She’s a nice filly and won her barrier trial well up here," said Coen. “We were confident coming here today and she did it a lot better today. She settled nice and quickened up well. “She travelled so well I probably hit the front too soon and when she got there she ran around a bit. “When she straightened up she really quickened up again. She did that well and is a filly I’m looking forward to.” (AM & EM)
