Circling Moon won on his first outing for Johnny Murtagh when claiming the concluding mile-and-a-half handicap at Gowran this evening.

Shane Foley produced his mount to fight it out with Dixie Highway a furlong-and-a-half from home.

The 8/1 shot went on from that rival inside the final furlong and held the late surge of Trump Card by three-parts-of-a-length.

The winner was last seen competing in a charity race at Punchestown under his owner Paddy Woods.

“We don't have him too long. Paddy rides him out himself most mornings,” said Murtagh.

“He's enjoying being back on the Curragh, he served his time with John Oxx. He's getting a good kick out of it.

“He's a horse that he thought would win of those 0-65. Dusty was good on him today and he stayed on well.

“He liked the mile-and-a-half and like the good ground. He was getting stuck in the heavy ground.”
