Menagerie lands the odds in style Menagerie opened her account at the sixth attempt when readily landing the odds in the Paddy Power Home Of The Money Back Special Maiden at the Curragh. Owned and bred by Anne Marie O’Brien and trained by her son Joseph, the daughter of Fastnet Rock was in the money on all five previous outings and favourite backers had few worries here. The 4/7 chance was confidently ridden by Mikey Sheehy making smooth headway to lead at the furlong pole, and was just shaken up to score by three and a quarter lengths. Fill The Power had no answer inside the final furlong taking the runner-up spot, with Turbulence a further three lengths back in third. O’Brien’s assistant Brendan Powell said, “She deserved that. She’s not the biggest but she loves that ground. “Mikey said holding onto her a bit more today has helped her. How good a maiden it was I don’t know but she travelled into the race beautiful and when he gave her a squeeze she picked up. “She’s got her head in front which is the main thing and I’m sure she will win more.”
