Lordan springs a surprise on 66/1 reserve Having got in as second reserve, Scream was a shock 66/1 winner of the Fermoy Handicap (45-65) (DIV I) for trainer David Nagle. With a change of headgear applied after finishing ninth at Listowel on Sunday, the Vocalised mare came through from off the pace to head She’s In The Game (8/1) inside the final furlong. The 6-year-old, who had won a maiden and a claimer during her time with Ger Lyons, kept on to score by three quarters of a length from She’s In The Game with another at fancy odds, 125/1 chance Stormy Jenn, staying on for third spot. The 11/10 favourite Praying Mantis, who had finished a long way in front of Scream when winning at Listowel, faded out of contention on this occasion to finish towards the rear. Winning rider Wayne Lordan remarked: "She wasn't jumping out of the gates well enough but the cheekpieces sharpened her up, and she won well at the line "Amelia Turner, who led her up, rides her work and does plenty of the work with her so it was nice for her and the owners."
