Game Catch relishes trip under trainer/rider Power Game Catch (5/1) finished with a flourish to win the second division of the Belvedere House, Gardens & Park Handicap Hurdle over an extended three miles. Having chased the leaders throughout, the Ocavango gelding was pushed along in fourth when pecking on landing at the last. Quickly gathered up by trainer/rider Paul Power, he was soon switched towards the outer and stayed on strongly to hit the front in the final fifty yards. At the line he was two and three quarter lengths ahead of the 7/2 favourite Trouble And Strife. It was a first win for the 5-year-old who had been runner-up over shorter trips at Downpatrick and Tramore earlier in the summer. Power, who is based in Butlerstown near Waterford city, said: “He's been consistent and the three miles suited him there today. “I'm delighted with him, he travelled well and jumped well. I got a little bit of a fright when they quickened first but he stayed at it well.” Quotes from Gary Carson
