Fly Vic Impresses There were a few well-touted horses in the bumper but the mare, Fly Vic, put them all firmly in their places when strolling to an impressive sixteen length success in the hands of Pa King. The 20/1 chance, winner of a Lisgoold point-to-point earlier this month, was always on the pace and she went clear from over a furlong out to account for the favourite, Hammersmith. Harry Kelly, assistant to the winning trainer, John Halley, absent vetting, said: "She does everything right, she won a point-to-point and she was fairly impressive there." Pa King rode Pandorama to win his point-to-point for Fethard veterinary surgeon, Halley. He got off the mark on the racecourse when scoring on Mouse Morris' War Of The World at Punchestown in May 2007. A brother to fellow amateurs, James and Johnny, he is a nephew of trainer, Pat Doyle and therefore a cousin of Jack. (EM)
