Emperor Bob was a facile winner of Killarney's International Hotel Handicap with Ronan Whelan in the plate.

Peter Fahey 's six-year-old gelding cut down Stamp Of Authority in the final furlong and quickly moved clear.

Whelan was able to ease down close home as his mount delivered by three lengths at 8/1. He had been backed at fancy prices in the morning and certainly a touch was landed. Path Of Silver came through for second at 6/1, a short head in front of Rosin Box (13/2).

Ronan Whelan said: "The blinkers back on really sharpened him up and the race was run to suit as they went hard in front and it gave him something to aim at.

"The bit of juice in the ground really helped and the sting being gone out of it really helped.

"I think once they stay in this grade and if they're in good form they can bounce off a little sequence, so hopefully he'll win again."
