Doyle guides Mulzamm to second win at Dundalk Regular Dundalk participant Mulzamm (20s into 12/1 on course) gained his second victory at the track when taking the Floodlit Friday Nights At Dundalk Handicap (Division 1) in the hands of Joe Doyle. The eight-year-old, twice a winner in his younger days for Charlie Appleby and once rated in the 90s, gained a second win for Denis Hogan off a mark of 55. He picked up just a fraction quicker than eventual runner-up Tynamite (5/1) as they both went for the same gap outside the furlong-marker, and with the latter then having to switch, Mulzamm was a length and a quarter ahead at the line. Amazing One (12/1) was another half a length back in third, while the 2/1 favourite Major Power finished sixth. “He's a tricky old horse and if it had opened up earlier for him he may not have gone,” said winning jockey Joe Doyle. “He has plenty of ability and the race worked out today. He has his own ideas but luckily enough today he read the right script. “It's great to be on the board for the New Year.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
