Michael O’Callaghan is considering an exciting target in Kentucky for Black Forza who successfully took the step up to Group 2 company at Goodwood earlier this month.

The American bred son of Complexity, who cost £220,000 at the Goffs UK Breeze Up Sale in April, got off the mark in a Fairyhouse maiden last month before benefitting from a patient ride by Dylan Browne McMonagle to land the Markel Richmond Stakes.

“He’s very well and has an entry in the Middle Park but I’m thinking about bringing him to America in the meantime for a very valuable turf race.

“I’m seriously considering it and his owner (Eleanora Kennedy) loves racing.

“It’s in Kentucky Downs and is a million dollar six and a half furlongs turf sprint for two-year-olds.

“Kentucky Downs is similar to a lot of Irish tracks. It’s a bit like Fairyhouse going the other way.”

Kentucky Downs hosts the US Open Turf Championships with a total of 13 million dollars in prizemoney on offer on September 7 making it one of America’s richest race days outside of the Breeders’ Cup.
