Barry Lyndon is a welcome winner for McLoughlin Barry Lyndon provided Dermot McLoughlin with a welcome win in the tote.ie Tommy Carberry Handicap Hurdle. Last successful at Bellewstown in August and a solid sixth on his most recent start at Navan, the 128-rated seven-year-old was returned at 8/1 for this two and a half mile heat. Fitted with a tongue-strap for the first time, the Fidelma O'Toole-owned chestnut was settled in mid-division by Liam McKenna, improving into fourth after three out. Pushed along to challenge between horses from the next, he was ridden to the front approaching the final flight, keeping on well from there to score by two and a half lengths. Coming from off the pace, top-weight Beckett Rock (20/1) filled the runner-up spot under Rachael Blackmore, while Slane Hill (6/1) and Prends Garde A Toi (14/1) were third and fourth respectively. Returned the 4/1 favourite, Glen Klin found little for pressure after three out and pulled up before the next. "He said he took his time on him today. We put a tongue-tie on him, as I didn't think he was finishing out his races and maybe that helped," McLoughlin, who was registering his first winner since October, reflected. "He had run some good races and he's been consistent. We've always thought he prefers nicer ground but he went through that today and kept galloping. "I think he'll be a nicer horse on better ground." STEWARDS REPORT The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Glen Kiln, trained by Michael J.
