Asian Daze obliges under Sheehy Asian Daze built upon a staying-on fourth at Leopardstown to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking in the opening juvenile median sires series maiden at Gowran Park. The 10/3 shot got away well from stall two in this seven-furlong assignment and raced prominently. She was sighted in third at the halfway point behind Sun Never Sets and School Of Law and made good headway for Danny Sheehy to lead over a furlong out. The Frontiersman filly was well on top in closing stages and passed the post two and three-quarter lengths in front of School Of Law (5/2f) who nabbed second from Sun Never Sets (7/1) in a race that few in truth got into. Johnny Murtagh said: “She’s been running consistent and got a lovely ride today from a nice draw. “She’d been training good at home, but our two-year-olds seem to need a few runs to click into gear. “We’ll see what the handicapper does. She’s not very big, but she’s brave and the owner (Phelim Dolan) is absolutely delighted. He bred her and has a few of his friends involved (Armchair Jockeys Syndicate).” Additional reporting by Alan Magee
