Wayne Lordan got a tremendous response from Act Of Love in the final furlong to claim the jogforjockeys.ie Handicap for trainer Willie McCreery and her owners the GAA Legends Syndicate.
Lordan was doubling his tally on the evening having booted home Captain Obvious in the first at Naas and here he got the successful chestnut daughter of Le Vie Dei Colori running in time to mow down Eagle Canyon and Jambalaya who had battled it out up front.
McCreery said of his first time blinkered three-year-old: "She ran a cracker when third here to Rose Bonheur (three runs back) and that is good form.
"At Sligo last time she didn't help herself as she acted the maggot a bit. The blinkers here helped her concentrate.
"She has the ability and it's more a case of her being a bit wayward rather than being a madam. I'm delighted with her anyway as that's her third win for us now."
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Eagle Canyon, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed second and Jambalaya, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed third, where it appeared that Jambalaya continued to drift when challenging and carried Eagle Canyon off a straight course in so doing.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed the video of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that R.P. Whelan had ridden carelessly and suspended him for 2 racedays.
Mr N.B. Wachman, Chairman of the Acting Stewards absented himself from this enquiry and Mr Julian Gaisford St Lawrence acted as Chairman.
