She idled when she got to the front on very heavy, cut up ground and we'll probably go for a winners' bumper with her. The ground is very gluey and is so cut up after the other hurdles races being run on it. I'd like to find a winners' bumper down the country, that would suit me, and go jumping then. I think she is improving and I hope she is good enough to win a winners' bumper. W P Mullins, trainer

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Daphne Moon, ridden by Mr J.J. Codd, placed second and The West Awaits, ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, placed first, where it appeared that interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the winner had not improved her finishing position as a result of the interference caused and therefore made no alterations to the Judge's placings. They did, however, find Mr. P. W. Mullins in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for one raceday
