in fairness she kept at it well. We were all out on our feet the last 100 yards but she was game. I'd say it's not ideal to be in front with her for too long but once you have them rolling on this ground you have to keep them going. I'd say a stiff seven would probably be ideal for her. She ran well at Leopardstown and just didn’t stay the last day. On her last two runs before that she was entitled to be where she is today. That was tough out there today and she's tired. She handles all kinds of surfaces. We would be hoping that she will keep going and improve into a nice filly. Today was the plan. She had a hard race there and it'll be interesting to see how she comes out of it. Michael Mulvany, trainer

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Midst (GB), trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be struck into behind. L.F. Roche, rider of Midst (GB) trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran very flat. The Stewards requested a report from Michael Mulvany, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Prove The Point, placed first, as compared with its most recent form. The trainer reported that his charge was better suited to the drop back in trip and this in his opinion, had brought about the improved performance. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered

An extended handicap for three yrs old only (75 = 9st 12lb)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 75 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 12lb. Subsequently, the excess over 75 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
