"His jumping was superb and Dylan gave him a brilliant ride," said Henry De Bromhead after 7Ib claimer Dylan Robinson rode his first winner over fences on The King Of Brega (cheek-pieces added, 14/1) in the Galway Plate Trial Handicap Chase at Limerick.
Always to the fore, The King Of Brega was clear from before the straight and in the end he easily defeated King Leon by twelve lengths.
"I said 'go out and be positive' and he came alight and broke the others' hearts," added De Bromhead.
"I'm delighted for Dylan as he is a good member of my staff and is a nice guy and a good rider.
"I'll speak to the owners and see what they'd like to do; I'd say he'll struggle to get into the Plate but could go for the Galway Blazers."
Regarding the Galway Plate De Bromhead commented: "Shanahan's Turn, Sadler's Risk and Home Farm are definites for the Plate and are being aimed at it and there might be one or two others too.
"Shanahan's Turn is a bit in-and-out but has been like that even before the Plate last year - he ran a shocker at Killarney and I was actually in two minds about running him in the Plate but he just came alive. He's a funny guy and is 9lbs higher now.
"Sadler's Risk was third last year and had a great run the other day but is also 13lbs higher now. However, if Road To Riches runs, you'll need to be up around that (rating) to get in.
"Stellar Notion will go to Killarney as we'll keep him to a shorter trip just for the moment, and I think a flatter track might suit him better too."
The Stewards requested a report from Henry de Bromhead, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of The King Of Brega, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on his last start in Ballinrobe when he seemed unsuited by both the track and by being held up. The horse seemed to get into a much better rhythm today up front, wearing cheekpieces for the first time. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
