The extended two and a half mile chase at Killarney lost some of its lustre when former Champion Chase winner Finian's Rainbow was ruled out of making his comeback due to the incessant rain, however, that didn't bother 6/1 winner Letter Of Credit

Just four horses lined up and Baily Green who took this race last year, cut out the running. Letter Of Credit kept to the inside and was hunted round in rear by Davy Russell. The pair raced well off the pace throughout.

On the turn-in, Letter Of Credit hugged the inner rail and ghosted up to lead before three out. Baily Green was soon driven in second.

After popping the second last, Russell pushed Letter Of Credit clear and the pair stretched on to score by seven and a half lengths from Baily Green (evens favourite).

"Ground is the key to him; Davy (Russell) went along the corners on the bad ground but you always do the right thing when you win!" Jimmy Mangan said.

"In fairness to him he ran a blinder at Cork when he nearly caught Roi Du Mee for second and that was a hell of a run.

"More small fields and plenty rain are the plan for him!"

This was Russell's second winner on the card as he booted home Kates Benefit at 25/1 in the mares' hurdle. His double paid 181/1.
