He's an extraordinary horse and we bought him as a bumper horse and he only cost 35 or 40,000 Euros. To win a Punchestown Champion Hurdle and an Irish St Leger and be down to Melbourne he is extraordinary and hardy,. He has his own ideas about how he does things at home and we try not to have too many arguments with him and let him get on with it and it keeps him young I'd say. I'd like to find something similar with him next but I know his owner is keen to go jumping with him and be the first horse to win a Group One on the Flat, and a Grade One over hurdles and fences, so the Drinmore Chase could be an option. He jumps fences very well. We'll keep him to the Flat and over hurdles in the meantime, and wait until the weather gets really soft until going chasing, if he does. I don't know if he'd be good enough to win an Irish St Leger at this stage but he has an entry in it but we're taking it day by day with him.

he broke quite slow and he is a bit like he always is and has a little look around but I couldn't pull him up afterwards and myself and Derek (O'Connor, on third-placed Ivanovich Gorbatov) actually did another lap of the track and couldn't pull him up. That should get his confidence back and it looked like a good opportunity and he will probably have his sights raised after that. He could go to Galway or Goodwood but I don't think

Ruby (Walsh) rode him in his last bit of work and he said there may not be anything to make the running. We have been holding him up all our lives and he often doesn't produce what it looks like he will. Hopefully it will be the Melbourne Cup next. That has been the plan all year as the pace and the ground will suit.

He did it very easy and did what we expected. His pedigree suggests he'd be a high quality flat horse and if I had my way he run in the GPT (amateur handicap) at Galway but Dad might have bigger plans!. I imagine he might run at Royal Ascot instead but will need to have three flat runs to run in one of the handicaps.

He has been a little bit quirky at the start a couple of days over jumps but he had been in stalls at home and he was in them again yesterday. I rode him myself at home and he was fine,. The race went smooth for me, he travelled great. The ground is not that bad, for me anyway. He quickened up well in the straight and he put it to bed once he got by the filly, and he galloped on well to the line. He had the ability going into the race to do that. I think he could be kept on the Flat for the summer. I haven't spoken to Willie but I don't think there is too many jump races for him over the summer given his rating. He has won his maiden here now and I think Willie can look at a few more Flat races for him now and see where he will progress to. He will handle nicer ground a bit better as well.

At least that puts the worries I had about him handling the ground the to bed. At the moment it looks like he will go for the Supreme Novices'. He pulled very hard and he got to the front way too soon.

He seems to be better in better races and a fast pace suits him. He's a fair horse and he's improving with every run which is amazing. He handled good ground well, but we don't know about soft ground yet. We'll have to try him on it. I might try and twist dad's arm to get him to run him in Cheltenham in November in a bumper, but he'll probably go hurdling soon.

He travelled very well and I ended up behind Robbie McNamara which is where you want to be around Galway as he rides it better than anyone,. He was looking at the crowd, that's what got him beat last time, and he had more in the tank. He's improved from last time and I think he'll improve again. It's great to get the monkey off my back on the first day as I'll have a lot of fancied rides during the week.
