Wicklow Brave outclassed his four rivals in the last at Listowel, the Bryan McMahon (Q.R) Race, scoring easily under Patrick Mullins for his father Willie (completing an across the card double after Daisy's Gift won at Listowel).

The six-year-old son of Beat Hollow won the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March and he followed-up on the level at Gowran earlier this month.

Sent off the 1/5 favourite today he was settled on the rail behind the leaders. He improved into second with three furlongs to race and cruised to the front over a furlong out, going on from there to win by five and a half lengths. Cardinal Palace finished second under Katie Walsh for James Nash at 6/1.

Patrick Mullins said afterwards: "He did it very easy and did what we expected.

"His pedigree suggests he'd be a high quality flat horse and if I had my way he run in the GPT (amateur handicap) at Galway but Dad might have bigger plans!

"I imagine he might run at Royal Ascot instead but will need to have three flat runs to run in one of the handicaps."
