a bit of ease in the ground and drop down in the handicap (helped him); he was a bit flat all summer, and he just seems to be coming back as his last couple of runs were decent. It’s grand to win one with him.

I thought that the handicapper had him. He'll go with the other horse (An Saighdiur) to the Silver Cup at Ayr. He went too fast early on in the Scurry and cut his own throat. That's his third win in the Curragh this year.

I told anyone that would listen that he would win. We had been holding him up over six and he was getting sick of it. He needs to pop out and go over five,. It's faster he seems to be getting. He had a good draw and a light weight, and Killian's claim made up for being out of the handicap.

he was gelded earlier in the year but had a hard time and is only recovering now. I'm beginning to think he's a sprinter - he doesn't work like a sprinter as he's lazy. He was a bit wrong at the weights today but we said we'd try it today, let him jump out and rattle. He's back to somewhere near his best and hopefully there is more to come.

he had two grand runs but then got very weak and had a bad dose of ringworm. He's in the Redcar Trophy (Sales race) next Saturday (October 4) but if that comes too soon he could go for the Birdcatcher. He's a decent horse and worked really well with An Saighdiur (103 rated stablemate) last week and beat him by six lengths. I wasn't going to run An Saighdiur in the Ayr Gold Cup because of that but he did run and ran well.
