Cappella books Ascot ticket with Marble win The Ger Lyons trained Cappella Sansevero capitalised on the late absence of morning favourite The Great War in the Listed Cold Move EBF Marble Hill Stakes at The Curragh today, and readily scored as the new 4/6 favourite under Gary Carroll. Aidan O'Brien's The Great War was a long odds-on chance before being withdrawn some twenty minutes before the contest, due to the change in going but in the race ,Cappella Sansevero, a son of Showcasing, quickened up well in the closing stages for an easy three and a quarter lengths win over Sors. A delighted Lyons later stated “I thought it was a very professional performance and he will be better on better ground. “We have done Dundalk, done horrible ground at Naas and now horrendous ground at the Curragh. Gary (Carroll) said he was hating it and his wheels were spinning a bit in the early stages. I told him to ride him like a good horse and take him off the bridle as late as possible. “They say good horses go on any ground but I know he was hating that. At the moment my feeling is to go for the Norfolk Stakes and hopeful the wheels don't fall off the wagon. “I'm happy with where he's at at the moment and I want to try and get as many of my team as possible to Royal Ascot - it's our Cheltenham.” By Thomas Weekes, quotes from Gary Carson
