Conor (owner) is involved with the Dungarvan hurlers and it is lovely to win at our local track. Jonathan gave him a lovely ride. He is pretty good to do what he is told and not put them on their head. There is no point in being too close and not finishing. It's grand to win a local race and my father (Matt Kiely) had his first winners here in 1953. He might run well in a big handicap with a lighter weight.

He has been a long time threatening. Age is no barrier when you have the heart. It's nice he's after proving himself. It has been a long road as he's been quite high in the handicap, but has come down recently. I hope the handicapper doesn't do too much to him now.

we were considering running him in the Cesarewitch but he wasn't getting into it so we decided to come here instead; half a loaf is better than no bread! . He ran well at Listowel, knew he was in good form and he'll probably go back chasing now.

That's a nice start. He was always a class horse but he went up too quick in the handicap over hurdles. Hopefully there won't be a repeat. He jumped well and to do that around here is not that easy. He did a little bit of schooling last year before he was let off. We'll take it step by step with him now.

On The Way Out is a tough sort and while the trip (two miles) was too short for him, the testing ground compensated for it. We'll see how he comes out of this race and he may run over Christmas - two and a half miles is his best trip.

On The Way Out has always promised a lot and was a bit unlucky last time out at Punchestown as the race was almost over when he got going. He'll run next over Christmas.
