On The Way Out delivers in style On The Way Out belied his odds of 10/1 as he convincingly landed the featured Galway Plate Trial Handicap Chase over two miles six in Limerick. The 3/1 favourite Rohan’s pride eased into the lead before the home turn, but he was tracked by a Decent Excuse and On The Way Out. On the run to the second last nothing was going better than On The Way Out and he forged ahead strongly to hit the line six and a half lengths up on Rohan’s Pride. John Kiely said: “He has been a long time threatening. Age is no barrier when you have the heart. It’s nice he’s after proving himself. It has been a long road as he’s been quite high in the handicap, but has come down recently. I hope the handicapper doesn’t do too much to him now.” John Kiely had an across-the-card double with On The Way Out and The Parishioner in Bellewstown. On The Way Out is an 11-year-old who had his last success in Punchestown back in October 2011. Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
