He's just learning to sprint now. Before he was jumping out and they were gone and he was flying home in his races. It's a specialised trip. He's only learning now how to jump, travel, hold his place and quicken whereas he was falling out of the stalls and taking forever to warm up. Shane said he travelled comfortably today. He's getting better and learning his job. We'll see what the handicapper does. I said to the owner earlier in the year we might consider Dubai and if he hits 100 we might bring him.

He was a little outpaced early on. He doesn't know how to jump and sprint with the handicappers. It takes them time to learn to sprint. Shane said he was two lengths down with a furlong to go but he was always confident he'd get there. It was a nice race for him as he definitely needs a stiff five. It's great for John (Clague, winning owner). He's the only horse he has in training at the moment and his mother was a great patron.

He has run some good races at Dundalk but got a bit weak over the winter. I probably shouldn't have run him the last day but it looked a winnable race. We gelded him over the winter and hopefully he'll improve through the summer. He should get six furlongs. I'm delighted to train a winner for Jonathan Clague. I trained the dam, Daganya, who won the Listed Sweet Mimosa Stakes at Leopardstown.
