After winning the first two races (Zunera and Kernoff Shane Foley and Mick Halford completed a treble in third (coming in at approximately 26/1) as the well-backed Glassatura recorded her first win in handicap company.

The three-year-old daughter of Verglas won on her debut at the Curragh in May of 2013 but had been ultimately disappointing since.

Available at 10/1 in a place this morning she opened on-course 6’s before being back into 9/2 at the off.

Settled in mid-division she was pushed along in fourth entering the straight, coming with her challenge on the outer from the two furlong pole.

She hit the front a furlong out and kept on well from there to score by a length and a half. Crafted Mastery who was squeezed for room a furlong out, finished second at 11/2 under Colin Keane for Ger Lyons while Norville was a further half a length back in third under Niall McCullagh for Lee Smyth at 25/1. Maudlin Magdalen was sent off the 4/1 favourite and she finished sixth under Kevin Manning for Donal Kinsella.

Mick Halford said in the aftermath: "She was a good two-year-old but just lost her way a bit. She was always likely to do something like that coming down the ratings.

“It’s great to win a race with her and I have to thank Michael Enright (owner) who has been very patient.

“She'll be kept in training next season and I think she could come back to herself and hopefully find her old form.

“I ran her out of frustration in Cork when the ground was worse than I thought it was. We said we'd give her one crack here and we'll leave her for the winter now.”

STEWARDS REPORTS

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving, Whimsical ridden by C.R. King, unplaced, Equation Of Time (GB), ridden by G.J. Phillips, placed fourth, Crafted Mastery, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed second, Amazing Star ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed fifth and Cheers Buddy ridden by C.D. Hayes, unplaced.

Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that C.T.Keane was in breach of Rule 214, in that he rode carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Caged Lightning trained by Ronald O'Leary, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal(samples taken for analysis).
