He (Fosters Cross) has had a hard season and didn't run too bad for Bryan Cooper at Punchestown the last day. We freshened him up after that and he really came back to himself in the last 10 days and it was a nice pot to get. He'll probably pull out again at Leopardstown over Christmas.

You can never get him fit enough at home and it always takes a couple of runs to get him right,.

He jumped well and he'd run well against Rebel Fitz at Cork the last day. He has a decent mark over fences and it was a nice pot to get.

He will definitely go for the .Hurdle. on Thursday. He never leaves a nut after a race, so hopefully he will be okay after this. He's a great old horse to train, although winter ground is not his ground. He's been buzzing all week, and Colin said he was buzzing all the way down to the start. He was well due a big pot.

That was a well-deserved win. His last good run was at Fairyhouse and he didn't disgrace himself since when the ground was gone for him. The better ground here helped. We'll look at Fairyhouse with him now and I think on that ground he'll pick up more money again.

It was a great ride. He could go for a 1m6f amateur race at Galway now at the end of the month,. There is also a two-mile chase there for him. He'll run there in something if the ground doesn't go really bad. I couldn't believe the price today.

He schooled for point-to-points before he ever came to me so that stood to him today. We thought when the ground changed that his chance was gone but he handled it well. He has plenty of foot over two miles. We have no immediate plans.

Tipperary Sun, 4th Oct, 2009 (1st)
He ran well last Winter on soft ground which he doesn't like. He had a short rest after Punchestown and we were going to go chasing but decided we might pick up another hurdle. He'll have a short break now and I'm 99% sure we'll go chasing next. We'll put him away when the ground goes. He's a good ground Summer horse and his ideal trip is over two miles.

I'm glad to get that win with Fosters Cross after disappointing at Listowel on his last run. That fast ground makes all the difference and today's race conditions were set up perfectly for him. He'll run next in the Grade 3 Joe Mac Novice Hurdle at Tipperary on Sunday.

He is a horse that has always shown a lot at home. He has a lot of speed and Davy felt that on the good ground today he was able to show it. He'll probably go for a winners of one and he'll definitely go chasing next season. (EM)
