Fosters lands Grade 3 on chasing bow Fosters Cross made an excellent start to his career over fences by taking the Grade 3 Barna Waste Ballybrit Novice Chase under a confident Davy Russell. The second market choice moved second behind the front-running favourite, Let Yourself Go, four out, he took over into the straight and stayed on well to see off Schelm by two and a half lengths. Let Yourself Go looked like he might drop away badly when headed but he kept going to finish a moderate fourth. In-form winning trainer, Tom Mullins said: "He schooled for point-to-points before he ever came to me so that stood to him today. We thought when the ground changed that his chance was gone but he handled it well. He has plenty of foot over two miles. We have no immediate plans."
