Clan Tara crashed out of the Grade 3 Beamish Stout Phil Sweeney Memorial Chase at an early stage leaving just three runners to battle it out in the two and a quarter miler and not surprisingly given the way the market shaped up beforehand the trio of participants had their chances two from home. However Paul Carberry pulled Psycho to the stand's side from here and it was soon apparent that he was getting the best of the argument at Thurles.

After race at
Fairyhouse Sat, 12th Dec, 2009 (1st)
He will not do a stroke in front. He'll gallop all over them and travel well but he's the same at home, he just pulls himself up in front,. He jumped well and travelled sweetly. We decided to do this instead of going something over Christmas. He'll probably go to Leopardstown on January 10th for a Grade 2 there.

we had to decide beforehand whether to ride Clan Tara positively or drop him in and it eventually worked out well.

Navan Sat, 6th Dec, 2008 (1st)
Nina (Carberry) won on him in Tralee and she said he would be the type to be suited by big staying tracks. He needs a minimum of two and a half miles and if he is okay after today he'll probably go for the graded novice hurdle at Limerick over Christmas. It was a great ride by Davy and Clan Tara be a better horse next year when he jumps a fence. (EM)
