Two in the Gigginstown House Stud colours and two in the silks of Paul Duffin made up a near 50/1 four-timer for Davy Russell at Navan. The fourfold was completed when Chelsea Harbour defied top-weight in the Kells Handicap Chase to help his trainer Tom Mullins to a double (scored with Made In Taipan earlier).
The Youghal native had registered wins on Clan Tara Made In Taipan and Nuvelli and was 11/4 favourite to get another one on the board on Chelsea Harbour. Always prominent, he took advantage of Bronx Girl s second last fence mistake and in the end was all out to hold off the renewed effort of that mare by a neck.
Mullins said: "He is entered in the Paddy Power (has 11st 7Ib at the moment) but if he gets a fair rise for this it could put him out of that. The Lexus is another option. Davy said he idled after the last but it's grand to get that prize."
Russell previously had a four-timer at Clonmel a few years back. (EM)
