I know I'm biased but if any horse deserved it then he did. It's two years and a lot of runs since he won. He was second in a Listed race at Cork earlier this month and got put up 5lb. It's a career best to do that off 99. Shane said he likes that ground and travelled well into the race. In fact he felt he got there a bit too soon.

The last thing I said to Billy going out was that in his younger days he won over five and six. The big thing today really was that he handles the ground and that he's a fit horse.

The ground is riding good. We would have been in trouble if it had been soft. We would have taken him out if the forecast rain had materialised. He has had two wind operations and like a lot of horses who have had wind problems his form is on better ground. He won by the skin of his teeth. Shane Foley is an excellent lad and his riding is first-class.

We thought the trip might be a shade sharp, he's won over six furlongs and six to seven furlongs is probably his trip. He's a slow starter and he does his best close home, he flew home there. He's in the July Sale so we'll discuss with the owners as to what the plan is.

It was important to get the win out of the way for the owners as they have the mare at home and he's the first foal so it's great he won. He has had two wind operations and it seems to have worked, he has plenty of ability and handles the fast ground well. We will go for something similar a six or seven furlong handicap on fast ground.
