Bold Thady Quill came with a late surge to land the Essential Drogheda Magazine Handicap under a fine ride by Shane Foley.
Ken Condon’s charge who was in fourth over a furlong out responded well to a strong drive by Foley to get up and lead close home for a two length success over Bank On Black
Winning trainer Condon said afterwards: “We thought the trip might be a shade sharp, he’s won over six furlongs and six to seven furlongs is probably his trip.”
“He’s a slow starter and he does his best close home, he flew home there.”
“He’s in the July Sale so we’ll discuss with the owners as to what the plan is.”
