In one of his points he made a bad mistake two out and then rattled home to be beaten a short-head. He had that bit of experience and he'll go to Punchestown now. He's for sale.

She only does what she has to but at the end she had to pull out all the stops. That's not her ground and I wouldn't run her on it again. She will go to Fairyhouse now for a good mares chase in January.

Askanna disappointed the last day but had a problem with her back. I knew she was in good form today but wasn't sure if she was back to her best. Barry gave her a great spin and she was pricking her ears at the line. Askanna is tiny, only 15.2hh, but will now have a break after a long year and will come back chasing next season.

She's improving all the time and learning how to race. Normally she's on and off it during the race but today she was on it the whole way,. The last day at Galway she just got caught for a bit of toe. They went a right good gallop today and it suited her. There's a mares race at Leopardstown for her (29th Dec). I didn't think she'd handle the heavy ground as well as she's a good mover. She's an out-and-out stayer.

She is tough and that was the plan. She is a well-bred mare with Racing Demon, Merry Gale and Brave Inca in her pedigree.

She won two point-to-points so we knew she stayed. She'll go out to grass now,. That's my fourth winner on the track. I have an interview next week and hopefully I can get a full licence.
