he won this race in the past and when you come here with one bullet to fire, you try and put it where you can do the most damage. We always had faith in him, he likes it here, likes that nice ground and it gives him a chance to travel and jump well. He had been running well, he had been second in a €100,000 race at Navan and was third in the Brown Lad over 2m4f. He's not getting any younger and we might have a look at a few of the summer festivals. He needs a bit of luck in running, doesn't like the argy bargy and if you can get a clear run and a bit of room he enjoys himself. Mark gave him a great ride today and things worked out so I'm delighted.

He's tough and he stuck it out. He is workmanlike but the more you ask the more he gives. It's great to get some compensation as we were chinned at Christmas and unlucky two out at Cheltenham,.

I’m delighted with that. His jumping just needs to improve a little bit,. He’s a bit novicey but he’s progressing. The race worked out for him. It cut up for him and he got his opportunity. Hopefully he’ll improve again and progress a little bit from that. He was a nice hurdler. He was very lucky as he nearly got brought down when the horse fell in front of him. He had to go right around him. Mark wanted to get him under the second last and he just kept galloping. He needs to learn a bit yet.

He's progressing and has done well since he won at Limerick. He's only four and should do well with time. We'll tip away quietly and he's a nice horse to have in the yard. He needs to step up again but we'll take small steps at the moment and see where that takes us.

I'm delighted with that as it was his first run back following a break and I had to give him time after his run (in June) as he threw a splint. It was grand place to start him off and he handled the ground well. He had plenty horse under him two out and he's a beautiful horse who will jump fences in time. He's not too bad and hopefully will go on to better things but we'll look for a little novice next maybe at Christmas. I've had one winner for J.P. McManus in the past and he had previously been a great supporter of Michael's (O'Brien, late father-in-law).
