Permission was given for Birkenhead (GB) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Brian The Snail (IRE), ridden by Barry McHugh, Birkenhead (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Graham Lee, and Caribbean Sunset (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Sam James.
McHugh was suspended for 5 days for improper riding for manouvering his mount right-handed off the heels of Soul Seeker (IRE) when looking for a clear run, giving BIRKINHEAD a bump, which in turn carried Caribbean Sunset off its intended line.
Soul Seeker (IRE), drawn 1, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Following the race, David Allan reported that Albegone (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed.
