Permission was given for Mystic Man (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Stony Man (IRE), trained by Gary Hanmer did not enter the parade ring due to Sean Bowen riding in the previous race, which was significantly late off and therefore delayed the trainer in being able to collect the saddle in a timely manner.
Rounding the first bend, Hilnamix (FR), which was later pulled up, lugged right-handed despite the rider’s best efforts to correct the gelding, causing Mystic Man (IRE), unplaced, to lose its position between runners when tightened up for racing room but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Sean Bowen reported that Stony Man (IRE), which was pulled up, never travelled and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Tom Scudamore reported that he pulled Hilnamix (FR) up as a precautionary measure, due to the gelding bleeding from its right-hind leg after being struck into.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a subsequent post-race examination of Hilnamix (FR), revealed a small wound to that leg.
