we were fortunate, but we'll take it when we get it. That was his first handicap and it's great for Peter to ride his first winner. The Stewards interviewed P.K. Donovan, rider of Turndownthevolume, concerning his use of the whip in in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. P.K. Donovan stated that his mount raced lazy and he just lost count, but accepted he was in breach and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that P.K. Donovan was in breach of R 10.3 (g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for 2 racedays

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Presenting Cody, trained by Mark Michael McNiff, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be stiff post race.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards rated 0-109
