The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Notturno, ridden by J. Coen, placed first, Bright N Shine, ridden by S.T. McCullagh, placed second, and Ruler Of The River, ridden by J.J.G
Ryan, unplaced, where it appeared an incident occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.J.G
Ryan stated that he had room to angle out for a run when he received pressure from his outside. S.T. McCullagh stated that he received pressure from his outside. J. Coen stated that his mount drifted in but felt he did all he could to correct his mount. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found J. Coen, was in breach of Rule 214 (careless riding), and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays
S.D. Bowen, rider of Show No Fear, trained by Adrian Brendan Joyce, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran short of room in the straight, the Raceday Stewards reviewed a recording of the matter and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
An extended handicap for three years old only rated 47-65
