D.W. O'Connor, rider of Oor Jock, trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount clipped heals and he was unseated. The Stewards enquired into an incident in the back straight involving Oor Jock, ridden by D.W. O'Connor, Lady Ranger, ridden by R.A. Smithers, and Jealika, ridden by R. Coakley, where it appeared that Oor Jock clipped heals and unseated D.W.O'Connor. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were unable to apportion blame and took no further action.
An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards (70 = 10st)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 70 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 70 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
Riders - : Apprentices who are apprenticed to trainers in Ireland only who have not lost the right to claim the 5lb allowance under Rule 69 and who will not be allowed to carry whips.
