Permission was given for both Irrelevant (IRE) and Tomorrow Day (GB) to go early to post and for Twilight Jazz (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Larenta (GB), trained by Julia Fielden, lost its left-hind shoe on the way to post.
As the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the filly should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe on the way to post, Larenta (GB) ran without its left-hind shoe.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner Time Tested (GB), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
Michael Bell’s explanation that the colt had strengthened up after having an 84-day break, was noted.
