Permission was given for Fenjal (IRE) to be mounted on the track and go early to post.
Osmosis (GB) wore earplugs.
Rowan Scott, the rider of Northern Lyte (GB) was unseated approximately 2 furlongs out.
The rider and David Allan, the rider of Highwaygrey (GB) were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
It was found that the incident was accidental and was caused by Northern Lyte (GB) edging left to avoid the weakening Osmosis (GB), at the same time as Highwaygrey (GB) was hanging right, causing Northern Lyte (GB) to clip the heel of Highwaygrey (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference inside the final furlong.
In the first incident, the winner, Valence (GB), ridden by Robert Havlin interfered with Highwaygrey (GB), placed second, ridden by David Allan, causing the rider to take a check.
And in the second incident shortly after, Valence (GB) interfered with Euro Implosion (IRE), placed third, ridden by Joe Fanning, causing the rider to momentarily ease.
The interference was found to be accidental in both instances as Valence (GB) was hanging right-handed despite the rider’s best efforts to prevent the interference.
The winner, Valence (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Doncaster on 27 April 2019 where the colt finished tenth of twelve, beaten 27 lengths.
Ed Dunlop’s representative’s explanation that the colt benefitted from the application of cheekpieces and the drop in class, was noted.
