The performance of POINT N SHOOT (IRE), which was pulled up, was considered. Tom Buckley reported that the gelding was never travelling and Nigel Hawke could offer no other explanation for the gelding's performance. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final bend when ROCKU, placed third, ridden by Harry Skelton interfered with POINT N SHOOT (IRE), which was pulled up, ridden by Tom Buckley, which in turn interfered with DOLLY'S DOT (IRE), unplaced. The Interference was found to be accidental as Skelton's mount became unbalanced approaching the bend.
