M.A. Enright, rider of Peace N' Milan trained by Francis J. Flood, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and was pulled up thereafter

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Peace N' Milan, trained by Francis J. Flood, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis

The Stewards requested a report from Noel Meade, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Miss Cognac, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ted Walsh jnr, authorised representative for the trainer reported that Miss Cognac had disappointed on her previous run when jumping poorly. He felt the animal appeared to appreciate a step up in trip and the heavy ground conditions and felt a combination of both had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered

The Stewards received a report from Ms. Avena O'Keeffe, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that O.R. Brown, rider of Minx Tiara, had presented himself to weigh out at 3lbs overweight having declared a possible 2lbs overweight at declaration time. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the overweight on this occasion having consulted with the trainer. They were, however, of the opinion that O.R. Brown was in breach of Rule 198(vii) and having considered his record, they issued a fine of €150. Mr. Bryan Murphy, Acting Steward, did not attend this enquiry.

An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards mares only (123 = 11st 10lbs)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall not be less than 11st 10lbs
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
