An enquiry was held to consider why Ian Williams was running Getaway Mission (IRE) here at Warwick on going described as Good, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Plumpton on 21 April 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that, when the horse was previously declared a non-runner at Plumpton on Good ground, he considered the ground would be on the quicker side of good due to being in the midst of a heatwave, whereas there has been some rain this morning as well as the track being watered, and in his opinion, the gelding would be better suited to the ground today.
Following the race, David Crosse reported that Getaway Mission (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout.
Sean Bowen reported that Ruthless Article (IRE), unplaced, ran too freely, and the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding had lost a right fore shoe.
