An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race involving Darver Star (IRE), placed second, ridden by Keith Donoghue and Goshen (FR), placed third, ridden by Jamie Moore.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Darver Star (IRE)’s placing as the incident took place between the second last and the last hurdle, Goshen (FR) had sufficient time to get passed Darver Star (IRE), and had appeared not to lose any momentum as a result of the interference and only rallied on the run to the line beaten a nose.
The interference was found to be accidental as Darver Star (IRE) shifted quickly right away from the whip making very slight contact with Goshen (FR).
Aiden Coleman, the rider of the winner, BREWIN’UPASTORM (IRE), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from approaching the last hurdle.
Following the race, Jamie Moore reported that Goshen (FR), placed third, hung badly right-handed throughout.
