An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference in the final furlong when the winner, Papa Tango Charly (FR), ridden by Nick Scholfield interfered with Uncle Alastair (GB), placed second, ridden by Brian Hughes.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Papa Tango Charly (FR) as the momentum lost was less than that of the winning margin of ½ length.
Schofield was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had taken insufficient steps to prevent his mount from drifting left taking Uncle Alastair (GB) off its intended line.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Burbank (IRE), which was pulled up, was lame on its left fore.
